Great Southern Hotel Melbourne

The vintage interior decor and modern courtyard area were delightful. It felt like stepping back in time while enjoying the conveniences of today. The accessibility for senior people was impressive, with wide corridors and well-lit common areas that made moving around the hotel easy and safe for us older travelers.

The only thing I would ask for is a better vacation for senior people is to have more handrails in the hallways and around the property. It would provide extra support for us, the children of the staff, as we navigate the hotel.

The room was super clean and well-maintained, providing anice and neat space to relax. The central location of the hotel made it easy to explore the city and access various attractions and amenities. the friendly and helpful staff enhanced the overall experience, providing excellent customer service.

The size of the rooms was a bit cramped and lacked privacy, with windows facing the hallway. additional charges for amenities such as Wi-Fi and breakfast felt a bit excessive and could have been included in the initial cost of the room.

I chose this hotel for attending to a council, and it provided the ideal place for both tourist and business clients. The staff were very courteous and the location was great, making it convenient for both work and leisure activities.

The one service that I missed for my work was the availability of a reliable and fast internet connection. This would have been beneficial for staying connected and managing work tasks efficiently during my stay.

As a couple, we loved the convenient location near Southern Cross Railway Station, Free City Trams, South Bank, and the Docklands precinct. The abundance of good restaurants and eateries nearby made it easy to satisfy our cravings. Having a supermarket at the train station was a bonus for any necessary supplies. The delicious and hot breakfast, along with the comfortable bed, made our overnight stay enjoyable. The friendly staff made checking in and out hassle-free.

We loved the location of this hotel! It was perfect for us as it was close to the train station, ferry dock, and right in the heart of the city. The room was also very clean, and had all the basic facilities like a fridge and coffee machine which was great.

We had a fantastic time exploring the nearby DFO South Wharf, where we found great deals on brand-name items, and also enjoyed a round of mini-golf at the nearby Glow Golf Melbourne. The location was perfect for our family's activities, and we appreciated the convenience of being near both outlet shopping and golfing opportunities.

My wife says that for families with children, it would be great to have a dedicated play area for kids within the hotel premises.

The room had a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring the city. The hotel's central location made it easy for me to hop in and out for a quick refresh. The vintage interior decor added a touch of old-world charm to the experience.

Oh, how I adore being awakened by fire alarms at midnight! Such a delightful surprise during my stay!

I always return for a reason. On my first stay, the staff kindly lent me a phone charger. This place suits me perfectly with Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, and a bar/restaurant. Everything I need for my business trips is here.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was very convenient; it was close to everything and across from the train station, which was perfect for us. Also, the on-site restaurant was fabulous with a wide selection of delicious dishes.

The hotel is conveniently located near the tram stop and the southern cross railway station, making it very easy to get around. The renovated foyer and courtyard areas provide a fresh and modern feel. there is a good size toilet-room downstairs for use after checkout.

The hotel has some wear and tear on the air conditioning; however, the friendly and accommodating staff make up for it.

The room was really cozy and had everything I needed for a comfy stay - a fridge, a TV, and even a bathtub in the en suite bathroom. I felt right at home!

Personally, I would have preferred a later room collection time.
